NEW BUCKS ARENA
GRAND OPENING AUG. 26
The grand opening of the new
Milwaukee Bucks arena, called the
Wisconsin Entertainment & Sports
Center until a name sponsor is found, is
set for Sunday, Aug. 26. The event will
include public tours of the arena and
the fourth annual Bucks Block Party
presented by Klement's Sausage.
The $524-million arena is located
at 1111 Vel R. Phillips Ave. (formerly N.
4th Street) just north of the site of
the arena it replaces, the BMO Harris
Bradley Center. In addition to being
home court for the NBA Milwaukee
Bucks and Marquette University's
Golden Eagles men's basketball team,
the arena will be a more attractive
venue for entertainers and other events.
September appearances already are
booked for Kevin Hart, Maroon 5, Justin
Timberlake and comedian Jim Gaffigan.
And Professional Bull Riders will bring
the "toughest tour on dirt" to the arena
for the Milwaukee Invitational Oct. 6-7.
