Tilton/Getty Images for NASCAR 12 Finally! The new NASCAR season is just around the corner. Teams head to Daytona for the Budweiser Shootout on Feb. 18 and the Daytona 500 officially kicks off the 2013 campaign on Feb. 27. This year should be one to remember for one big reason – the debut of the new generation of Sprint Cup cars. Hallelujah! That means the demise of the ugly, ill-thought-out Car of Tomorrow, which blighted the track for the last five seasons. The new car – should we call it the Car of the Day After Tomorrow? – is actually a throwback to the days when you could actually tell the cars apart just by looking at them. This 2013 iteration retains the safety features built into the Car of Tomorrow while allowing the race teams to create a vehicle that looks much more like something you might see on the street.
