Ryan Lawnaire core aerator with Easy Steer Technology Ryan expanded its line of walk-behind aerators to include a unit that features new Easy Steer Technology (EST). The New Lawnaire V with EST combines all of the same great performance and user-friendly features and benefits as Ryan's current Lawnaire V core aerator with a new tine assembly that enables the unit to turn easily while in the aeration process — without removing the tines from the ground. The difference is in the tine bank assembly. Each tine wheel assembly has a one-way clutch bearing. This design is responsive to the operator and enables easy turning capability while the tines are in the ground. The Lawnaire V with EST utilizes 90 percent of the same components as the current Lawnaire V, so it has the proven durability and reliability of the Ryan name while minimizing the number of new service parts required for dealers to stock, which helps maintain a low cost of ownership for the customer. Toro 30-inch Dual Hydro stand-on aerator The Toro 30-inch Dual Hydro stand-on aerator boasts a powerful Kawasaki FS481 V-Twin engine with integrated hydraulics that follow the contours of the ground to pull even plugs over hills and soft ground without tearing up the turf. It applies up to 1,200 pounds of down pressure on the tines to pull up to 5-inch cores, and operators can finely tune the system to pull any length of plug on the fly. Electronic controls also allow the operator to raise and lower the tines instantly for quick zero-turn maneuvers without taking their hands off the controls. In addition, the floating operator platform isolates the operator from vibrations for an exceptionally smooth ride. With a travel speed of 7.5 mph and an aerating width of 28-inches, this model can aerate 2.1 acres per hour. TurfEx Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Package TurfEx introduced the Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Package, an attachment system designed specially for zero-turn mowers. The attachment can be converted from a sweeper to a dethatcher without having to purchase additional equipment. Available in 48- and 60-inch widths (models MT480 and MT600, respectively), the Thatch, Groom 'N' Sweep Package uses a universal mount that easily fits the form of most major manufacturers' zero-turn mowers. The attachment includes 2 rows of brush sections, which can be replaced with spring-mounted tines to turn the sweeper into a dethatcher in just a matter of minutes. To switch between the two, the operator simply removes a containment plate, and then slides the brush or tine sections in and out of the housing. All TurfEx products come standard with a 2-year limited warranty. www.landscapeirrigation.com Landscape and Irrigation 19
