The full-featured web site is a one-stop online spot for all informa- tion about preserved wood – from how it's made to preservatives in use today to how to properly specify it for use outdoors and in other demanding applications. A special "How To" section de- tails requirements for fasteners to use with preserved wood, the importance of field treating cuts and holes made during installation and recommended ways to handle and dispose of pre- served wood. WWPI also announced its new web site – wwpinstitute.org. The new site includes information on all services WWPI delivers to its members and those specifying and using preserved wood products. You can also review the Institute's current membership and links to other sites in the wood preserving industry. Since 1947, WWPI has represent- ed the interests of the preserved wood products industry throughout west- ern North America. The membership consists of companies that either man- ufacture products, are directly affili- ated or provide a service to the pre- served wood industry. American Welding Society Foundation supports growth of industry workforce MIAMI – The AWS Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable or- ganization which supports programs to ensure the growth and development of the welding industry through re- search and educational opportunities. Every year, the AWS Foundation awards over $1 million to students and industry professionals who want to pursue their aspirations. The AWS Foundation's scholarship program is supported by donations it receives ev- ery year. The AWS Foundation is also seeking support to recruit the next generation of welding professionals, and contributions are sought to help ensure the growth and strength of the welding industry.
