Inside AED Mike Quirk Mike Quirk Inducted as Chairman, and Officers Installed for 2013 The Chairman's Inaugural Breakfast set the stage for recognizing the association's volunteer leaders, comprising distributor executives from around the U.S. and Canada. Five AED dealer executives were installed as officers on Jan. 17 during a ceremony at the AED Summit in Las Vegas – together with AED 2013 Chairman Mike Quirk, inducted that morning as well, they comprise the volunteer Executive Committee and will guide the association for the coming year. The incoming 2013 AED officers share a humorous moment with their inducting officer Chris Pera at the Summit's Chairman's Inaugural Breakfast. Quirk, vice president of operations at Wagner Equipment Co., Aurora, Colo., received the chairman's gavel and pin from his installing officer, 2008 AED Chairman Paul Campbell, Wheeler Machinery. Quirk joined the Executive Committee in 2010 and is the former Regional Director of AED's Rocky Mountain Region. Wagner Equipment Co. is the Denver-based Caterpillar dealership whose territory includes Colorado, New Mexico and far west Texas. AED Foundation President Chris Pera was the master of ceremonies and the installing officer for the new members of the Executive Committee, who were elected by mail ballot and sworn in as a group on stage. Together these individuals make up the chairman's industry cabinet, and will assist Quirk in conducting the affairs of AED throughout the year. Tim Watters assumed the second-incommand role of AED Vice Chairman. He is president/owner of Hoffman Equipment, based in Piscataway, N.J, representing Manitowoc/Grove/National, as well as Case, Doosan, Atlas Copco, Genesis, Terex, JCB, LeeBoy/Rosco, Liebherr and Manitex. He was the AED 2012 Senior Vice Chairman. Don Shilling is AED's Senior Vice President, He is president of General Equipment & Supplies and General Aggregates Equipment Sales, Fargo, N.D. Shilling's company is a Komatsu dealership also representing Terex, KPI-JCI Astec, Link-Belt, and other brands. He was an AED Vice President and is a former AED Foundation Chairman. Rick Van Exan now serves as AED's Vice President/Canada.
