for the 2013
Stihl Tour des Trees
Registration is now open for the 2013
Stihl Tour des Trees, an international
cycling adventure and the TREE Fund's
signature fundraiser. The 2013 Tour will
showcase upstate New York and
Ontario's beautiful scenery, historic
trees, urban centers and favorite destinations. The roster is filling up fast.
Register for the full Tour or part of the
week, or skip the cycling and fundraise
from the couch. Proceeds from the Tour
fund tree research and education
programs that benefit the world's urban
forests and the workforce which cares

TREE Fund announces
new chairman
New TREE Fund Chairman Jim
Zwack, director of technical services
for The Davey Institute, took the helm
of the TREE Fund Board January 1.
Zwack leads a strong Executive
Committee, which includes ChairmanElect Randy Miller (PacifiCorp),
Treasurer John Hendricksen and Vice
Chairman Doug Anderson (Anderson's
Tree Care). Zwack is a veteran Tour
rider, former Liaison to the Minnesota
Chapter and was named Volunteer of
the Year in 2010. He succeeds Mike
Neal of APS, whose leadership and
contributions to the TREE Fund were
recognized (mostly respectfully) at a
dinner during the annual Trustee
Retreat and Workshop.
Nominate a TREE Fund
Volunteer of the Year for 2012
June 30th is the deadline to nominate a
TREE Fund volunteer who contributed "above
and beyond the call of duty" in 2012. Past
recipients of the coveted Ken Ottman
Volunteer of the Year beer stein include: Mike
Neal, John Lloyd, Jim Zwack, John Goodfellow
and Jim Barborinas. The award will be presented at the 2013 ISA Conference in Toronto.

and Robert Felix Memorial Scholarships.
