Equipment Focus | String Trimmers & Edgers Atom professional edger The Atom professional edger blends award-winning design with outstanding power, ease of use, safety and speed. The wheel-barrow design puts all of the weight of the machine on a single wheel, so the operator is not carrying the load. The shaft drive means 100 percent of the engine power is always on hand. The Atom professional edger combines the power of a much larger 3- or 4-wheeled machine with the mobility and maneuverability of a stick edger. Fully enclosed blade guard and safety trigger interlock add outstanding safety to this fast and reliable edger, which is powered exclusively by Honda's GX35 engine. Atom Edgers/Seago International, Inc. CORE Outdoor Power's CGT400 trimmer CORE Outdoor Power's CGT400 trimmer comes equipped with CORE technology, a GasLess motor device capable of producing high-torque rotary motion at high efficiencies and power densities. The technology eliminates the copper windings found in traditional motors, instead utilizing a multi-layered circuit board stator that works in conjunction with permanent magnets and a power cell to very efficiently produce high torque and significant power. The CGT400 is reliable, weighs 11 pounds, and will run just as long as a tank of gas. It's perfectly balanced and features an instant trigger start, high-energy power cell, dual-mode controls for torque and speed, open-view grass guard, dual-line bump feed and a comfort-grip handle. This lightweight, long-life, virtually maintenance-free trimmer retails at a price comparable with high-quality commercial gasoline trimmers. CORE Outdoor Power Echo SRM-266T trimmer The Echo SRM-266T trimmer boasts 50-percent more cutting torque than standard Echo trimmers, making it ideal for trimming and cutting in thick regional grasses and dense weeds. The SRM-266T has a 25.4-cc, smooth-running, professional-grade, 2-stroke engine. An engine vibration reduction system with padded handles increases operator comfort. Additional features include a 59-inch, 4-layer flex cable drive to provide additional strength in handling tough trimming and cutting applications; a 16.9-fluid-ounce, seethrough fuel tank for long run time; and a debris shield with a built-in, cut-off knife for optimum line length. Echo Inc. DS 2400S by efco The DS 2400S was 1 of 5 trimmers that efco introduced in 2012. These trimmers are the lightest in their class and boast among the highest power-to-weight ratios. The DS 2400S is a 22-cc trimmer that produces 1.2 hp., ideal for the commercial user. The DS 2400S is a straight-shaft, loop-handle trimmer weighing only 9.2 pounds; it is available in a bike handle model (DS 2400T). The trimmers feature an aluminum clutch housing to resist high temperatures and operator error-related stresses. Starting is made easy with embossed starting instructions on the filter cover. The Load & Go line head allows line to be reloaded in less than 20 seconds. efco/Emak USA, Inc. Grasshopper Edge-EZE lawn edger The Grasshopper Edge-EZE lawn edger allows users to save labor and reduce edging time up to 75 percent over walk-behind edgers and string trimmers. With a 2.5-inch cutting depth, Edge-EZE is ideal for maintaining established edges at up to 500 feet per minute. Twelve-inch vertical adjustment, a reversible disc and an electric actuator allow convenient edging from the sidewalk, turf or curb. Dependable, heavy-duty construction makes it suitable for daily commercial use, so it easily pays for itself in virtually no time. Compatible with all Grasshopper zero-turn mowers, Edge-EZE mounts on either side of the out-front or mid-mount mowing deck. The Grasshopper Co. Gravely Edger With a 4-position height adjustment and 110-degree pivot head rotation, the Gravely Edger is capable of edging, trimming, and beveling along walkways, driveways and curbs, so almost any landscape manicuring job can be completed with just 1 tool. Equipped with a Subaru 169-cc engine, the edger has the power to perform difficult landscaping projects while minimizing noise and vibration. Its recoil starter and standard push drive train system make the machine easy to operate. The deck is built with 12-gauge steel for added strength and durability. The ergonomic T-handle optimizes operator comfort and adds a level of safety through an operator presence control. The muffler design keeps the edger's sound output 2 decibels lower than its competitors. Gravely, an Ariens Co. Honda trimmers For homeowner and commercial trimming needs, the HHT25SLTA Honda string trimmer provides ample power and torque. Equipped with a standard loop handle, this lightweight trimmer is especially easy to use. The HHT35SLTA is the ideal handheld solution for heavy-duty trimming and brush removal. Designed to handle commercial applications, strong low-end torque characteristics allow many jobs to be performed at partial throttle-increasing fuel efficiency. Both models also come equipped with solid trigger design for excellent durability. Honda Power Equipment Husqvarna 525LS and 525LST trimmers The Husqvarna 525LS and 525LST trimmers feature a heavy-duty clutch and drive shaft, as well as comfort handles for easy control during the toughest jobs. With its powerful X-Torq engine technology, easy-access stand-alone starter, and large 2-stage air filter, the 525LS/LST is packed with power, versatility and durability. The 525LST features a special high-torque bevel gear, so the trimmer can work parallel to the ground for a high-capacity swath and excellent cutting performance.
