8 keymilwaukee.com H A N D M A D E F O R H O M E : The Craft of Contemporary Design Exhibition features 24 of Wisconsin's top contemporary artists and designers who create objects for the home. isconsin's rich history of traditional craft and modern design come together this spring at the Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) for a unique, artistic experience about home. Handmade for Home, March 30-May 19, features the work of 24 of Wisconsin's top contemporary artists and designers who create sophisticated, functional objects for the home. Handmade for Home celebrates the tradition of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces as well as new methods of customized design and production. From classic to high-end rustic and reclaimed, there is something for every aesthetic sensibility. Time-honored techniques in furniture making, silver and ironwork as well as basket-making are part of the exhibition. Cutting-edge methods of design and fabrication are shown in displays of shower curtains, wallpapers, bed covers, lamps, and more. Re-envision home this spring at MOWA. The museum's "everyone's a member" philosophy encourages re-visits throughout the year. First-time visitors to the museum pay a low-cost admission fee—as little as $15—and receive a free annual membership. The membership includes unlimited MOWA access, entrance to opening parties, and 175+ free- for-member programs each year.
