History Timeline August 1997 Teachers examine the Electron Scanning Microscope donated by FHTCC to the Orlando Science Center, which offers educators use of the equipment through FHTCC���s techPATH programs. FHTCC funds the first high tech degree program at Valencia Community College in advanced manufacturing for the semiconductor field. FHTCC later invests more than $1.1 million into the creation of other ���2+2��� high tech degree and certificate programs with partner community and state colleges across the region. 1996 The first logo of the Florida High Tech Corridor Council (FHTCC) shows the visible connection between the university regions as seen from space. 42 June 1999 Presidents John Hitt (right) and Betty Castor accept endowed chairs for each university from Peter Panousis, president and CEO of Cirent Semiconductor. July 2001 June 2002 Early Chip Camps give science teachers an inside look at the semiconductor industry through the goggles of a lab technician.
