DRINKS Lovely Low-cal Libations Creative cocktails weighing in at less than 200 calories SKINNY CHIPOTLE MARGARITA (194 calories) Kim Hassarud of Omni Hotels & Resorts created this cocktail 2 oz. Sauza tequila ½ oz. Lime juice ½ oz. Sugar-free syrup 1 oz. The Perfect Purée Chipotle Sour Splash orange juice Dried red pepper Combine all ingredients into a cocktail shaker. Top with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a glass and garnish with red pepper. THE FRESCO (About 130 calories) The mixologists at Ruffino shared this recipe 4 oz. Chilled Ruffino prosecco 1 Cucumber 1 Lime wedge Hot sauce Sea salt Peel cucumber and puree in blender. Strain cucumber juice into glasses. Top off with prosecco, finish with a dash of hot sauce and a pinch of salt. Gently stir to combine, garnish with lime. 14 | MARCH 2013 AVIATION RICKEY (155 calories) The mixology team at Aviation submitted this recipe 1½ oz. Aviation gin ¾ oz. Fresh lime juice 1 Teaspoon simple syrup 1½ oz. Seltzer water In a Collins glass, add ice, spirits and mixers. Top with seltzer water and garnish with a lime wedge. DOMO DAIQUIRI (163 calories) The mixologists at TY KU shared this recipe 2 oz. TY KU Coconut sake 1½ oz. Light rum ½ oz. Lime juice ½ oz. Agave nectar Combine ingredients. Serve on the rocks or blend with ice. TIGHTEN THE BELTWAY (About 110 cocktails) This drink was created by Washington DC-based mixologist Gina Cheservani 1½ oz. Bluecoat American Dry Gin 1 oz. Sugar free simple syrup 3 oz. Fresh grapefruit juice Combine ingredients in glass with ice. Garnish with a healthy slice of grapefruit peel. LE JARDIN À LA FRANCAIS (About 200 calories) Waikiki, HI-based mixologist Christina Maffei developed this recipe 2 oz. Thyme & Citrus beverage blend 1 oz. Vodka ¼ oz. Absinthe Shake with ice and pour into glass. Top with soda. SKINNYGIRL BLOODY MARY (122 calories) The mixologists at Skinnygirl provided this recipe 2 Parts Skinnygirl cucumber vodka 2 Parts low-sodium tomato juice Splash of fresh lemon juice Squeeze of fresh lime juice Dash of Worcestershire sauce (to taste) Dash of hot sauce Sprinkle of celery salt Shake with ice and pour into glass. Garnish with lime, cucumber and celery stalk. SKINNY-RITA (100 calories) The mixologists at TY KU shared this recipe 1½ oz. TY KU Liqueur ¼ oz. Silver tequila ¼ oz.
