BRAND SPOTLIGHT Tuaca Drinks & Ink T uaca Liqueur is partnering with celebrity tattoo artist Corey Miller to host the 2013 Drinks & Ink tour. The ten-city tour also includes live performances by Grammy-Performer DJ RAVIDRUMS. The tour, now in its third year, is a celebration of tattoo and cocktail artistry. Guests enjoy Tuaca cocktails and local entertainment, highlighted by performances from DJ RAVIDRUMS. In each market attendees will have a chance to win a one-of-a-kind tattoo from Corey Miller. The Drinks & Ink tour stops at Austin, Dallas, Houston, Reno, Wichita, Denver, Colorado Springs, San Diego, Sacramento and Baltimore. Absolut Contest: Designing a ChicagoThemed Limited Edition Bottle Bacardi Limited has acquired St-Germain, the superpremium elderflower liqueur. St-Germain creator Robert Cooper is continuing as brand guardian and spokesperson as Bacardi seeks to expand St-Germain's presence internationally. Bacardi Limited also named Andy J. Gibson as the Chief Marketing Officer of Bacardi and as President of Bacardi Global Brands. Gibson will be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the company's portfolio of premium spirits brands…. SPI Group, owner of Stolichnaya Premium vodka, has appointed John Esposito as President of its U.S. operations. This follows the decision taken by SPI to establish its own importing company in the U.S. and manage its portfolio of brands directly, beginning January 1, 2014. Esposito was most recently President and CEO of Bacardi North America….John McDonnell was named President – International, at Patron Spirits Co. He had been COO at Patron Spirits Co…. Serrallés USA, the US arm of Destilería Serrallés of Ponce, Puerto Rico, named John Eason as Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President…. Effective June 30, 2013, William Grant & Sons will no longer represent Bols Liqueurs in the U.S. They will be handled directly by the Lucas Bols USA company. Michael Higgins was named President of Spirits at Rogue Ales & Spirits. Higgins will oversee operations of Rogue Spirits distilleries in Newport and Portland, OR, and its portfolio of brands including Oregon Single Malt Whiskey, Dead Guy Whiskey, Hazelnut Spice Rum, Dark Rum, Spruce Gin, Pink Spruce Gin, Chipotle Spirit and Vintage Vodka. INAUGURAL BUBBLY n January 21, 2013, following the public swearing-in ceremony of President Obama, Korbel Russian River Valley Natural Champagne – featuring a commemorative neck label including the Inaugural Seal – was served at the Inaugural Luncheon. This marks the eighth Presidential Inauguration in which Korbel Champagne Cellars has been named for this prestigious honor, beginning in 1985 with the inauguration of Ronald Reagan and continuing through the inaugurations of George Bush in 1989, Bill Clinton in 1993 and 1997, George W. Now, the brand is teaming up with Threadless, an online design community, which is currently hosting a challenge to create artwork that will be featured on the next Chicago-themed bottle. Threadless boasts more than 2.1 million community members, some of whom submit art designs for T-shirts, fashion items and home goods. In addition to their design being printed on the new bottle, the winning artist will also receive $10,000 and a trip to the Absolut Chicago launch party.
