Letter from the Executive Director Trucker Buddy of the Month For years teachers and their classes have been honoring their Trucker Buddies by nominating them as the Trucker Buddy of the Month. Being a Trucker Buddy is a commitment to help young students excel by regularly communicating with the class on where the driver is located and what they are seeing. We also ask that the driver communicate weekly and if not, then at least monthly. While sending a post card or email or taking a picture through the Trucker Buddy Smart Phone app doesn't take much time, it still requires a level of activity to always be looking for that right picture or post card. Once the class receives that item it creates instant lessons on all academic subjects. Setting up a class visit takes time away from driving and many drivers sacrifice part of their pay check to make that visit. The teachers and class appreciate the time and effort their Trucker Buddies invest in them, so nominating their Trucker Buddy for a special award is something the class can take pride in as well as the driver. It's just one way that the teachers and class can say "We love you and thank you for your hard work." So what does it mean to be a Trucker Buddy of the Month? "I really felt honored to be nominated and chosen for Trucker Buddy of the month. I didn't know that I had made that much of an impact and impression on the teacher and kids.
