Helping our Monett friends and neighbors Bonnie Murray and her husband moved to Pierce City from Ohio to be closer to their grandchildren. "I didn't know many people in the area and I was retired," she says. "After a while I wanted something to do." Bonnie chose to volunteer at Cox Monett and is now a volunteer veteran with six years of experience. Bonnie mainly works at the information desk and gift shop. Changes and upgrades at Cox Medical Center Branson and CoxHealth clinics can be seen in Taney and Stone counties. At Cox Medical Center Branson new signage has been installed. In Branson West, the clinic's roof has been replaced, along with new carpeting and updated furnishings. Upgrades aren't limited to renovations. CoxHealth Center Kimberling City is now offering walk-in hours, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday – Friday. Follow the progress of these and future construction projects at coxhealth. com/branson or join the discussion at facebook.com/coxmedicalcenterbranson. Bonnie says she enjoys escorting visitors and patients to where they need to go. "It feels good to help people out," she says. Bonnie has also helped with the CARDIAC Kids diabetes screening for area children. Recently, she began crocheting hats for babies born at the hospital. Bonnie recommends volunteering to others. "I have met so many nice people," she says. Leichelle Cotney, volunteer coordinator at Cox Monett, says, "This is a great way to give back to the community. Volunteers are the first to make an impression for many of our patients and their family members and friends." Currently, there are volunteer openings with flexible scheduling at CoxHealth hospitals in Springfield, Monett and Branson.
