DRINK CULTURE PRODUCTS: WINE Amore Frutti is a new entry in the popular moscato category. The frizante moscato comes in several fruit flavors—cherry, banana, mango pomegranate, strawberry and raspberry—and can be enjoyed chilled or mixed in cocktails. The moscato is available for a suggested retail price of $7.99 to 8.99 for a 750ml. bottle. Gran Reserva Serie Riberas, or "Riverbank Series," is a family of specific-origin, single-vineyard wines from Concha y Toro, in which each variety is grown in close proximity to one of Chile's major rivers. Gran Reserva Serie Riberas chardonnay is the sixth addition to the series, featuring Rapel River fruit from the Ucúquer Vineyard in Colchagua. Imported from Chile by Excelsior Wines, the Gran Reserva Serie Riberas, first introduced in 2012, also includes the following single varietal wines and their rivers: sauvignon blanc (Rapel), cabernet sauvignon (Tinguiririca), carmenere (Cachapoal), malbec (Tinguiririca), merlot (Maule) and the new chardonnay (Rapel). Vision Wine & Spirits has introduced Wines For Dummies, a line of wines named after the For Dummies reference book series. The line, which caters to the beginner and novice wine-drinker and was developed to make wine experiences easier, is being introduced with four wines from two of the leading wine-producing areas: California and Italy. The California selections consist of chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon, while the wines from Italy are pinot grigio and Chianti. The four wines are available for a suggested retail price of $9.99. 14 | JULY/AUGUST 2013 Marchesi de'Frescobaldi has a new line of wines now available nationally in the U.S., Tenuta dell'Ammiraglia, from Tuscany. The first wines from the Ammiraglia estate to enter the market are Vermentino Toscana IGT, a 100% Vermentino (for a suggested retail price of $18), Terre More Cabernet Maremma Toscana DOC, a blend of cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, merlot and syrah ($18) and Pietraregia Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG ($25), which is the signature wine of the estate. Another wine, Ammiraglia Maremma Toscana IGT ($60 suggested retail price), will reach the U.S. market in 2014. The wines are represented by Folio Fine Wine Partners in Napa, CA. Little Black Dress Wines has added Divalicious Pink Pinot Grigio to its portfolio of wines targeted to female consumers. The latest offering is a blend of 75% pinot grigio, 13% muscat, 10% chardonnay and 2% viognier. It's designed to appeal to America's continuing love for pinot grigio and a rekindled interest in rosés, the company says. The wine has a suggested retail price of $11. Francis Ford Coppola Winery has debuted its latest addition to the Sofia label: the 2012 Sofia Chardonnay from Monterey County. Sofia wines originated with the sparkling Blanc de Blancs, a gift from Coppola to his daughter Sofia. A blend of 75% chardonnay and 25% pinot blanc, the chardonnay displays excellent balance, a supple texture and bright flavors of crisp green apple, white peaches, juicy pears, spices and a hint of citrus, according to the company. The wine's suggested retail price is $19. www.cheersonline.com
