A Big Step Forward. No Going Back DA took a big step forward this year by bringing back our in-person convention and tradeshow. For those who were able to attend, it seemed a welcome relief. FINALLY, we see our friends and colleagues. Members braved the travel restrictions, airplane mask requirements, and vaccination mandates from the U. S. , Canada, Turkey, Colombia, Mexico, China, Chile, UK, and more countries to reconnect. For me, it was my first time meeting many of you, but this group is so close to one another, I felt like I already knew you. I took a lot away from my first in-person convention with the IDA. Aside from the humor and stories was the returned sense of how critical being together is to our industry. Bringing back the booth conversation, hallway check-ins, and reception brainstorming is a fundamental part of our success as the heavy equipment aftermarket. What makes our industry work, despite the supply chain issues, border closures, or business barriers, is how we work as a unit. We overcome supply by being willing to share what we can to keep others servicing their customers. We innovate to streamline business practices to access a larger end-user pool. And we care about seeing others succeed. You also care about seeing the IDA succeed. Time and again, you have stepped up to bring in members, participate in the convention, upgrade your listings in publications, and sponsor activities. at isn't to the say the IDA isn't still in need, but I know we have the support of a loyal and engaged membership. While the Omicron variant stares us in the face, I want you to know that IDA is moving forward and not looking back. With our members' health and safety at the front of our minds, we have begun planning the 2022 event in Orlando, Florida... and it will be big! Disney BIG! So get ready for September7-9, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. Because, selfishly, I have so many more of you I want to meet.
