IMMEDIATE PAST PRESIDENT'S POST Paul Bonovich Dear IDA Members: "What we call the beginning is often the end. And to make an end is to make a beginning. The end is where we start from. " T. S. Eliot I am writing to express my fondest farewell to the members of the IDA. I have made many friends; and I have had the opportunity over the years of working closely with a fantastic Board of Directors (past and present). Having served on the Board for more than a decade, I am stepping down from my second term as the President of the Board. I do so realizing that it creates a new beginning for the IDA. We have a very capable team of professionals on our Board. We also have an outstanding Executive Committee. Good luck to you, my friends! It has been a pleasure working with you. Thank you for your service! Lance Hinrichsen President Bruno Montesano Vice President Jay Ahuja Secretary / Treasurer By all means and measures, our convention in Miami was a success. Despite travel restrictions and concerns about the Delta variant of Covid, our members showed up to support our association. I want to thank Costex for opening up the doors to their new facility (and art gallery) to us. I also want to take this opportunity to recognize our sponsors on pages 10-11. Since my first IDA convention in Chicago in 1995, I have witnessed the changes within our industry and our association. Our association Is changing with the times. We are connected to each other by common bonds and interests. We do business with each other. We support each other. Together, we are stronger. is is what the IDA means to me! In closing, I will leave you with one of the more memorable passages from Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. In the passage below, Brutus bids farewell to Cassius. It is a touching salute. And whether we shall meet again I know not. Therefore our everlasting farewell take: For ever, and for ever farewell, Cassius. If we do meet again, why, we shall smile; If not, why then, this parting was well made. Julius Caesar (Act 5, Scene 1) Please mark your calendars for our convention in Orlando in 2022. It will be held from September 7 to 9, 2022 at Lake Buena Vista. Stephanie and I send you our best wishes for a Safe, Healthy and Prosperous New Year in 2022.2.
