Welcome to Downtown Whitewater Downtown Whitewater is the origin of the city's heritage and remains a symbol of the continuous history, pride and quality of life. Community economic health, partnerships between the public and private sector, incubators for entrepreneurs and small businesses, art galleries, recreation, historic preservation, celebrations, special events, parades and so much more can all be found in downtown Whitewater. Shop in our unique retail stores, dine at one of our locally owned restaurants and savor the locally produced beer, wine and cuisine. Learn about our rich history of famous people who called Whitewater home and visit our local art galleries and landmarks. While you visit downtown Whitewater be sure to stroll under the magnificent educational and structural steel entrance archway to our awarding winning Cravath Lakefront Park. Spend an afternoon in a paddleboat, enjoy a bike ride or just simply linger by the lake. Located nearby you will also find our beautifully restored historic Depot Museum and the Stone Stable. The Stone Stable was believed to be built in the 1840s and an estimated 46 tons of rubble limestone was reconstructed one stone at a time with the help of many dedicated volunteers. The stable has stalls for four horses and room to house a wagon. The original stone, wooden beams, floor boards, mangers and most of the stanchion were intact and have been reused in the reconstruction.
