tHRIVE retail therapy ENDLEss KNot mind, body and spirited style The "Endless knot" is a Buddhist symbol of wisdom and compassion, so it's a fitting name for the colorful State Street boutique with eye-catching dresses and an array of home imports from South Asia—mostly Nepal—handpicked by co-owner Sandeepa Lama Palmer. "We want the store not to be just… where you find cool, trendy stuff, but a resource [for learning about Nepali culture]," says Palmer. While the faint smell of incense and soothing chants of Buddhist mantras set the stage for an otherworldly experience, the store's bright dresses, colorful jewelry and silky scarves would seem right at home in any Madison fashionista's closet. Bonus: They're sold alongside statues, brass prayer wheels and other home accessories for designing a soothing space of your own. –Cathy Martin 330 state st., Madison. (608) 255-6921. Palmer travels regularly to Nepal and india to search for trendy, one-of-a-kind products—and to personally ensure the weavers, jewelers, carvers and craftspeople are compensated fairly. "it just exudes a positive vibe." —sandeepa lama palmer, co-owner 26 brava magazine | september 2013
