N Eccoci wines are now available from Barterhouse, imported from the Girona region of Spain (not far from France). The winery is committed to responsible environmental practices and, indeed, was the first Spanish winery to be declared carbon zero certified in 2009. The wines include Blanco ($20 suggested retail), Rosado ($20), Eccoci Tinto Premium ($33) and Eccoci Tinto Super Premium ($60). N McCormick Distilling Co. has launched Hook's Rum, available in Spiced and Black Spiced versions (92 proof). Hook's Black Spiced Rum (suggested retail $16.99 for a 750 ml bottle) is said to have notes of cinnamon, clove and vanilla, while Hook's Spiced Rum ($14.99) has an amber color, velvety texture and distinct island flavor, the company says. McCormick also introduced a new whiskey, called Triple Crown. The new brand is produced using premium small grain bourbon that is made from a combination of smallgrain rye, malted barley and corn, and then it's blended using a proprietary process resulting in an 80 proof whiskey, the company says. Currently available in 35 states, Triple Crown retails for approximately $19.99 for a 750 ml bottle. N Following the successful launch of Dead Bolt Red Winemakers Blend, the brand has now introduced Dead Bolt White Winemakers Blend, a full-flavored, fresh-tasting blend made from California Chardonnay as well as Chenin Blanc. The blend features notes of fresh stone fruit, vanilla and spice and has a white peach, pineapple and sweet spice finish, the company says. Developed by Premium Wine Brands, Pernod Ricard's global wine division, the new wine is available nationally at a suggested retail price of $15.99. N Beam Inc. has launched John DeKuyper & Sons Crave Chocolate Truffle Liqueur, a new expression in its Crave Chocolate product line, which includes Crave Chocolate Cherry Liqueur, Crave Chocolate Mint Liqueur and Crave Chocolate Chili Liqueur. The line extension is said to combine the flavor of chocolate truffles with vanilla and a slight hint of caramel. At 30 proof, it boasts only 95 calories for a 1.5-oz. serving. Suggested retail is $17.99 for a 750 ml bottle. N Anna de Codorníu, a leading cava from Spain, has debuted a modern design for their popular Brut and Brut Rosé labels. The design uses new "bottle wrap" technology and bold graphics to reflect the brand's stylish image, the company says, and is meant to connect with female consumers. Anna de Codorníu Brut and Brut Rosé retail for $14.99 and are distributed in the U.S. by Aveníu Brands. N Stack Wines will soon be available throughout the U.S., as newly appointed distributor ShawRoss International Importers rolls out the single-serve, ready–to-drink wine offerings. Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Charisma (custom red blend) are among the wines available in the recyclable and portable package, for a suggested retail of about $12-$13. N Seagram's Red Berry Twisted Gin is the latest flavor to join the brand's family of Twisted flavors. Ted Berry features the taste of red raspberries combined with strawberries. Bottled at 70 proof, the new flavor launch is being supported with a variety of in-store point-of sale materials, including shelf strips, shelf talkers and posters. 54 • Beverage Dynamics • www.beveragedynamics.com • November/December 2013
