Out from under the microscope Out from under the microscope WSU brings pest workshop to the orchard. photojournal by T.J. Mullinax ashington State University's annual Sunrise Research Annual Field Day in Wenatchee, Washington, included a session for growers and others on how to identify insects. Last August, WSU research assistant Andrea Bixby-Brosi guided participants who looked for eggs and knocked insects loose from tree limbs into white trays for examination. Participants learned about natural enemies in different life stages and identified predators and parasitoids, different pest/prey hosts.
