38 • JANUARY 2014 • WORLD FENCE NEWS SureClose commercial hydraulic hinge-closer line goes "ReadyFit" Following the success of its SureClose hydraulic hinge-closer line, D&D Technologies has released a new line of models that offer quick and easy external mounting. The new "ReadyFit" models come with side fixing legs for quick alignment and multiple double-face fixing points for superior strength. Mounting bracket options include steel and aluminum that can either be welded or fastened, and fasteners are included. ReadyFit comes with vertical alignment slots and horizontal adjustment, or gate gap, is controlled via the unit's built-in adjustment feature. Compared to previous models of SureClose, the new ReadyFit models are 100 percent externally mounted to save time and money, said Jim Paterson, D&D SVP Sales and Marketing. The mounting system is designed for metal, wood and vinyl gates. Like all SureClose models, the heavy-duty ReadyFit comes in a variety of closing options to cater to all types of commercial and residential gates. There's a version offering adjustable gate-closing speed and final snap-close action to overcome electric or coded locks, and a load bearing model that is non-self-closing for use on access control gates with a weight capacity of 1,500 lbs. (680 kgs). The new models will self-close gates weighing up to 260 lbs. (120 kgs). ReadyFit also provides improved performance and tamper resistance, with the adjustable snapclose feature now providing 30% stronger action when required. One option includes a "holdopen" feature D&D ReadyFit and permits gates to swing 180 degrees. "While these commercial-grade hinge-closers offer smooth, finely controlled gate closure, the greatest feature of our new ReadyFit models is the easy and convenient mounting style," TILT-A-WAY RESIDENTIAL & INDUSTRIAL OPERATORS Compare our quality! You will see there is a difference! Commercial Residential All operators meet UL-325 and CSA-247 (800) 523-3888 www.tiltaway.com info@tiltaway.com noted Paterson. "There is no drilling of large holes, and fabricators and contractors choosing the steel bracket models can either weld or fasten using the Tek screws supplied. The new SureClose ReadyFit model will be welcomed by installers and fabricators of commercial or high-traffic gates," added Paterson. "A sturdy, compact hinge-closer combination eliminates the need for headers and separate hinge and closer systems; it's exactly what fence contractors have been asking D&D for. "We believe that a small but effective gate hinge-closer had become something of a Holy Grail to many within the gate and fencing industries," said Paterson. "Our product integrates the hinging and closing tasks, along with the benefits of quiet hydraulics and dual rows of bearings for smooth operation, a true breakthrough in gate hardware engineering." Each ReadyFit comes with a handy adjustment tool and provides a gate gap variance of ½" to 13⁄8", which suits a wide variety of new and existing gates. The entire SureClose line is designed to replace conventional hinges and many of the commercial door and gate closers used in common applications. Examples include commercial/business complexes, government, school/universities, upscale homes, childcare centers, playgrounds, hotels/motels, shopping centers, apartments, gated communities, and even high-end residential pool gates.
