BOMAG will showcase tangential oscillation on its new BW 161
ADO-4 tandem roller. This established exciter system has been
optimized in key areas for increased compaction production.
Coordination of the exciter system to drum weight ratios is the
basis for BOMAG's tangential oscillation. This compaction technology targets bridge structures, close proximity to buildings, and
intermediate and finish rolling applications. With TanGO always
directed horizontally, it maintains continuous ground contact and
efficient compaction is often evident after a few passes. The interaction of TanGO oscillation from the rear drum and traditional
vibration from the front drum provides advantages on difficult to
compact asphalt mixes.
Caterpillar, booth 10915 (North Hall) and 1015 (Gold Lot)
Cat will showcase the new M Series wheel loaders, which will
launch throughout 2014. The series will eventually include the
966M, 972M, 980M, 982M, 950M and 962M. The 972M and
966M are XE designated models, which deliver a fuel efficiency
gain of 25 percent when compared to the predecessor K Series.
The M series overall offers 10 percent better fuel efficiency.
The medium size wheel loaders all feature Tier 4 Final engines,
Caterpillar's Regeneration System, a standard lock-up clutch
torque converter matched with engine power and hydraulics and
a planetary transmission with a new split-flow oils system that
uses multi-viscosity oil.
