More than 2,000 Pacific Northwest wine
grape growers, wineries, researchers,
educators, and wine trade and media
will gather for the annual meeting of
Washington Association of Wine Grape
Growers on February 5-7.
The three-day meeting, in addition
to educational sessions and a trade
show featuring more than 160 exhibitors, includes a trade show reception,
research poster session, Spanish language sessions
for vineyard managers and workers, an industry
dinner with a live and silent auction benefiting the
Washington Wine Industry Foundation, and
an awards luncheon.
This year's program theme is "Fundamentally
Important." Topics of grower-related workshops
will include nematodes, vine diseases, pesticide
resistance, and viticulture for vineyard managers.
Workshops for winemakers and winery staff will
cover fermentation, wine analysis, direct sales,
wine tourism, and exports.
