Pests, diseases, and health care Dan Fazio, director of the Washington Farm Labor Association, will discuss the potential impact of the Affordable Care Act on the tree fruit industry during the Cherry Institute's annual meeting in Yakima on January 10. Fundamentally important More than 2,000 Pacific Northwest wine grape growers, wineries, researchers, educators, and wine trade and media will gather for the annual meeting of Washington Association of Wine Grape Growers on February 5-7. The three-day meeting, in addition to educational sessions and a trade show featuring more than 160 exhibitors, includes a trade show reception, research poster session, Spanish language sessions for vineyard managers and workers, an industry dinner with a live and silent auction benefiting the Washington Wine Industry Foundation, and an awards luncheon. This year's program theme is "Fundamentally Important." Topics of grower-related workshops will include nematodes, vine diseases, pesticide resistance, and viticulture for vineyard managers.
