Governor Bentley Meets with Huntsville/Madison County BA Leadership The Huntsville/Madison County Builders Association recently had the rare opportunity to entertain a visit from Governor Robert Bentley. Governor Bentley met with members of the H/MCBA's senior leadership, who discussed issues impacting the residential construction industry in Alabama. The Governor discussed at length his efforts toward work force development, including the appointment of HBAA Executive Vice President Russell Davis to his Work Force Development Advisory Board. Lasting well over an hour, the meeting presented the chance to interact one-on-one with the Governor as he answered questions on roads, the state economy, health insurance issues, and many other issues facing the building industry. Governor Robert Bentley addresses issues affecting the home building industry in a recent meeting at the H/MCBA office. Baldwin County, Metro Mobile Face off in "Battle of the Bay" Neighboring associations the Baldwin County Home Builders Association and the Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile put their good-natured rivalry to the test with their first "Battle of the Bay" bowling tournament at Eastern Shores Lanes. Each association had twelve teams competing on their behalf, with Baldwin County's Knockout Pest Control taking home $200 for the top score overall. All team scores were totaled to determine the winning association. Baldwin County emerged victorious, earning bragging rights and a trophy to keep until next year's tournament. The battle gave members from both associations the chance to enjoy food, drinks and prizes while networking with their neighboring members in a fun atmosphere. 3 0 | A la ba m a Hom e bu i ld e r | W I N T E R 2 0 1 3 HBAA President Taylor Burton (right) presents the "Battle of the Bay" bowling tournament trophy to members of the BCHBA.
