Trucks added to Massachusetts Right to Repair law
The independent aftermarket picked up
a needed win in November when Massachusetts passed a new law to reconcile
two Right to Repair Laws passed by the
state in 2012.
Under the new legislation, Massachusetts will mandate all automotive
and commercial vehicle manufacturers
provide affordable access to all tools,
software and information used to repair
late model computer-equipped vehicles.
Massachusetts is the first state to pass a
Right to Repair law in the United States.
"The Commercial Vehicle Right to
Repair Coalition is pleased that the Massachusetts Legislature has passed House
Bill 3757, granting access to information
(right to repair) for commercial vehicles,"
