BRAND SPOTLIGHT T imes Square Alliance and Countdown Entertainment, co-organizers of Times Square New Year's Eve, named Moët & Chandon as the official champagne of Times Square 2014. This is the first time Moët has participated in the New Year's Eve event, and the brand prepared the way throughout December by showcasing an 11foot tall bottle of Moët & Chandon Imperial – the first of its kind ever created in the United States – throughout different locations in New York City before it completed its journey to Times Square on New Year's Eve. Along the way, consumers were invited to pose for a photo with the bottle and create a toast to people in their lives, goals and hopes for the future. Each submission generated a virtual toast to upload to social media. BRANDED MERCHANDISE ONLINE Moët and New Year's Eve R umChata, the increasingly popular rum-based cream liqueur, has launched its RumChata Island Store, an online retail outlet that offers merchandise aligned with the tropical-themed brand. Official RumChata island gear includes sandals, beach shirts, T-shirts and hats for men and women. Also available is RumChata logoed glassware including the popular cereal bowl shot glasses. The RumChata Island Store can be found at www.rumchata.com under the RumChata Island Store tab, or through the RumChata mobile web app; only for those 21 years and older. Bling It On! Contest pnotiq Glam Louder: Bling It On! Contest winner Kara Schultz from Le Raysville, PA, posed with style icon and Hpnotiq Glam-bassador Khloe Kardashian during Schultz's Grand Prize trip to Los Angeles. Hosted online from June through August, the promotion featured digital and print advertising plus large-scale promotional events in New York, Las Vegas, Miami, Atlanta and Dallas. Advertising for the program garnered over 475 million impressions and almost 9,000 entries. The contest featured a grand prize trip for four girlfriends to Los Angeles for a makeover and a shopping spree with Khloe Kardashian. Throughout the contest, entrants were asked biweekly to submit style shots of their favorite accessories online. H The Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) has launched a convention website (www.wswaconvention.org) providing a direct link to the registration portal for the WSWA's 71st Annual Convention & Exposition. The convention website also includes detailed information on exhibit options, scheduling, sponsorship opportunities, competition entry and more. This industry event is being held April 8-10 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas….Prior to the recent holiday season, the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. (DISCUS) provided moderation and responsible drinking public service announcement to local television stations around the country. In addition to sending the public service announcement to the stations, a broadcast quality version could also be accessed by local television stations through the National Association of Broadcasters' website https://psa.nab.org/. The "Drink in Moderation" PSA directs consumers to www.DrinkInModeration.org, where consumers will find information from the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans on moderate drinking as well as tips for responsible entertaining….Pernod Ricard USA named key management appointments in its Wines and Champagnes division. Jeff Agdern, who most recently served as vice president, Wine and Spirits Marketing, at Pernod Ricard's Canadian sister company, Corby Spirit and Wine Limited, has returned to the U.S. as senior vice president, Wines and Champagnes. Mike Hermann, a 20+ year industry veteran, has been named vice president, sales, Wines and Champagnes. Jo Adamo has been named vice president, marketing, Wines and Champagnes…. Excelsior Wines named John Dougherty as National Sales Director…. Accolade Wines has appointed experienced wine industry executive John Ratcliffe as its chief executive officer….
