Approximately 1,300 attended this year's convention. Master of ceremonies and Foundation Chairman Roy Kern congratu- lated Mike Quirk on a job well done as 2013 Chairman. Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers conducted one of the Summit's most anticipated events – the Live Auction – which raised more than $40,000 for The AED Foundation. A panel of experts discussed the opportunities for distributors in the shale energy sector. Toby Mack was warmly thanked for his 24 years of service to AED as president and CEO. He was also honored with this year's AED Democracy Award. Sentry Insurance hosted The AED Founda- tion's Cabaret Night with the hilarious music of Mike Rayburn. Celebrating the association's volunteer leadership and networking with peers and partners in grand style, AED members launched their business year the right way.
