The Eastern Division garnered 34 best of class, 25 double gold, 94 gold, 285 silver and 151 bronze medals. Wines in the Western Division earned 18 best of class, 7 double gold, 38 gold, 179 silver and 133 bronze medals. Since 1982, the annual West Coast Wine Competi- tion has recognized the best wines made in the West. Likewise, since 1975, the International Eastern Wine Competition has recognized the top wines of the East. This year, V&WM merged the competitions into a s i n g l e e v e n t . W i n e s were judged separately in two regional divi- sions: the International Eastern Wine Competi- tion and the West Coast Wine Competition. Tra- ditional awards were given in each.
