24 Arbor Age / May 2014 www.arborage.com EQUIPMENT FOCUS EQUIPMENT FOCUS Loftness' Kwik-Trim Loftness introduced the Kwik-Trim to its VMLogix line of equipment. The Kwik-Trim is a compact, yet mobile tree trimmer with a 53-foot reach. It easily maneuvers in tight areas and can be transported with just a pickup and trailer. Utilizing the chassis of a TB250 Takeuchi mini excavator, the Kwik-Trim is equipped with a fi berglass- reinforced plastic boom and uses a long-stroke hydraulic cylinder to telescope to 53 feet. The single-reel design provides a clean, straight pull on the hydraulic hoses throughout the boom's full range of motion. Furthermore, the machine contains a large-capacity oil cooler, variable displacement piston pumps and custom valves to ensure reliability and smooth operation of the hydraulic system. The Kwik- Trim features a zero-turn radius, as well as 360-degree continuous boom swing, 90-degree boom arc, and 35-degree boom tilt. At the end of the boom is a 24-inch, carbide-tipped saw blade, which operates at 3,000 rpm. Mini-Jarraff rear lot residential tree trimmer Jarraff Industries' Mini-Jarraff rear lot trimmer is specifi cally designed for residential and municipal tree trimming. A minimal footprint and compact profi le allow the Mini-Jarraff to operate in areas where only climbing crews could go before. The patent pending self-leveling carrier allows it to travel on all types of terrain and eliminates the need for traditional outriggers. The Mini-Jarraff can retract to 36-inch traveling width — small enough for standard gates and backyard fencing — bringing a new level of safety and productivity to rear lot and residential trimming operations. The remote controlled Mini-Jarraff offers a dynamic range of operation including a 360-degree rotation, rotating saw head for precision cutting and a 54-foot vertical reach. Seppi Maxiforst offers new enhancements The Maxiforst forestry mulcher received a power increase. The machine is compatible with all types of tractors from 295 to 500 hp., preferably with reduced gears. Transmission has been reinforced with an integrated cooling system. Rotor start and stop operates without clutch due to the use of centrifugal clutch, thus protecting the mulcher and the tractor's transmission. The new generation Maxiforst rotor is patented. Equipped with more aggressive fi xed hammers, Mini Duo type, with tungsten carbide inserts, the rotor is designed for a wide exposure to plants in order to remove them better, thus the Maxiforst can even mulch wood that is 60 cm in diameter. The alignment of the patented gearbox system, protects the drive shaft, as well as the tractor's PTO from tension caused by uneven terrain. Terex PT-30 compact track loader The Terex PT-30 compact track loader is designed with a 26 percent increase in lift height, a 16 percent increase in operating capacity and a 45 percent increase in bucket rollback to enhance its production while continuing to offer operators the compact and maneuverable operation of its predecessor. The smallest compact track loader in the Terex lineup, the 4-foot profi le of the PT-30 offers productive work in limited access areas. The 33.7-hp. PT-30 offers an operating weight of 3,600 pounds, a tipping load of 1,900 pounds, with a 950-pounds operating capacity at 50 percent tipping load capacity, and a lift height of 101 inches. With a low 3.0-psi ground pressure, the PT-30 easily works on soft or sensitive surfaces with minimal damage or impact. The PT-30 comes standard with loader-mounted quick attach interface, allowing it to easily attach to a wide range of attachments.
