Manufactured Housing Association for Regulatory Reform 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW • Suite 512 • Washington, DC 20004 • 202-783-4087 • Fax 202-783-4075 • mharrdg@aol.com MHARR, in its initial issue advertisement, identified, as a key manufactured housing industry priority: The full inclusion by Congress of all manufactured housing loans in any final housing finance reform legislation, through clear, definitive and mandatory language. ★ That priority took a giant step forward on MARCH 16, 2014, as the U. S. Senate unveiled bi-partisan housing finance reform legislation that, for the first time, would include all types of manufactured housing loans – on an equal basis – in the housing finance structures and programs of tomorrow, and end the official discrimination that has held-back the industry and consumers for years. The inclusion of this eligibility language – developed and advanced by MHARR – marks a genuine breakthrough for the industry and consumers regardless of the ultimate fate of the Senate bill. This is because the inclusion of this language "breaks the ice" for the industry in consumer finance legislation and creates a new precedent, paradigm and template in Congress going forward, by explicitly recognizing the full equality of manufactured housing and American consumers of affordable housing. MHARR Thanks Manufacturers, Retailers, Communities, Finance Companies and Specifically Homeowners, for their Support Preserving the American Dream of Home Ownership Through Regulatory Reform MHARR, in its initial issue advertisement, identified, as a key manufactured housing industry priority: No. 2 on Get It Quick Page
