It's been a banner year for local players on the Web.com Tour with six players currently in the top 50 on the money list. Former University of Alabama golfer Jus- tin Thomas leads the way in fourth place with close to $250,000 won in 13 events. In his latest strong performance he finished solo third in Boi- se, Idaho last week and is a lock to finish in the top 25 at the end of the season and thus earn his PGA Tour card for the first time. Also safe is former Auburn star and former Walker Cup player Blayne Barber who has won over $219,000 from eight events, including a win, to place eighth on the current money list. Former UAB golfer and Mobile resident Zack Sucher is enjoying his strongest year on the Web.com Tour, playing especially well of late, and has won almost $140,000 in 16 events. He is 20th on the list and thus, with a strong year-end, can crack the top 25. Birmingham resident Jeff Curl, former Hunt- ingdon College golfer Kris Blanks and former Auburn golfer Roland Thatcher are all also inside the top 50.
