18 BRAVA MAGAZINE | AUGUST 2014 THRIVE STYLE+BEAUTY SUPER NATURAL Mix up your beauty routine with tried-and-true natural recipes from local artisan Anita Sood's home kitchen using alternative Ayurvedic medicine— India's ancient holistic approach to wellness. HEALTHY MANE MIX Whole egg: 1 egg for short hair; 2 eggs for medium length; 3 eggs for long hair Approx. 1 Tbsp. unrefined coconut oil per egg Approx. ½ c. plain yogurt Approx. 2 ½ tsp. honey Whip it up: Mix ingredients until they have a smooth and slightly runny consistency. Apply to hair with a cotton ball and gather under a shower cap. Let mask sit for at least 45 minutes (mask will harden slightly). Shampoo off and enjoy a smooth, silky mane. Why it works: Egg strengthens hair while yogurt and honey nourish and moisturize.
