CATHY MARTIN | "THRIVE," P. 33 Cathy is a versatile writer and editor whose work has been published on USAToday.com and Livestrong.com. She enjoys outdoor sports, keeping her French from getting rusty and attending Madison's many quirky events. Cathy's mindfulness practice: "To remind myself to be grateful for the little things, I write them on slips of paper, store them in a box and read them whenever I'm feeling down or reflective." She grew up in Massachusetts but has called Wisconsin home since 2011. She loves movies, restaurants, photography, Zumba, rock climbing and going to Blackhawk Church. Britni's mindfulness practice: "Yoga and praying. Yoga gives me time to meditate and be in touch with my body and mind. Praying is what keeps me sane." JOSIE ABLEMAN | "NO FORGETTING, NO REMEMBERING," P. 26 Josie is a Madison native and UW-LaCrosse graduate with a bachelor's degree in fine arts and a minor in English. She loves drawing strange animals and creatures using a variety of mediums. Josie's mindfulness practice: "I take everything 'one day at a time.' Even though I'm not sure where my current path leads, it doesn't matter as long as I continue to go on." ERIN HANUSA | "NO FORGETTING, NO REMEMBERING," P. 26 Erin's writing and food criticism have appeared in Isthmus, Bust and The Onion. Her book, "The House of Marriage: Poems," was published in 2008. She moonlights as a ukulele player (mostly in her living room). Erin's mindfulness practice: "I try to connect with the person I'm with—really listening. To receive a gift of someone's complete presence is rare and delightful." SHANNA WOLF | PHOTOS THROUGHOUT Shanna is a Madison photographer and fashion stylist. She also loves dancing, music, traveling and good food. You'll often find her on the bike path with her little dog, Elroy, in her bike basket and her boyfriend close behind. Shanna's mindfulness practice: "I practice mindfulness by listening fully without thinking about my opinion and what I'm going to say next." BOBBI PETERSON | PHOTOS THROUGHOUT Bobbi is a vintage-inspired wedding and portrait photographer with a downtown Sun Prairie studio. She lives with her husband John and her daughter Sloan Riley. She adores trying new restaurants and wine. Bobbi's mindfulness practice: "I drink a cup of tea every night before bed. No TV, no email, no distractions. It's a great way to unwind before going to sleep!"
