Track-mounted combo plant Metso says the Lokotrack LT220D is the most compact track- mounted combination of a cone crusher and screen ever made. The combination plant is said to reduce operational costs in several ways, most notably by lowering fuel consumption and reducing the need for maintenance. Both units are run with a single Cat C13 diesel en- gine, while an efficient power transmission boosts operating power. Fewer units to transport offer a quick set-up job and allow opera- tors to consider smaller contracts that may not have otherwise been profitable. Cone options include the HP200 or the GP220. Paired with the Lokotrack LT106 mobile jaw plant, the secondary unit can produce up to three end products. Metso Mining and Construction | www.metso.com Power for load-and-carry applications Three of John Deere's K-Series wheel loaders — the 624K, 644K (not in- cluding the hybrid unit), and the 724K — now meet Tier 4 Final emission standards. The units are said to deliver impressive torque to help maintain good boom and bucket speed in and out of the pile for heaped loads, even in wet or hard-packed material. Axle improvements, including standard axle cooling and filtration and brake retractors and adjustors, increase durability. The units feature a standard five-speed lockup torque converter transmis- sion to improve productivity and fuel efficiency. The feature connects the drivetrain directly to the engine to provide full engine power during trans- port, ramp climbing, and downhill conditions. Quick load cycles The Tier 4 Final L250H wheel loader from Volvo Construction Equipment is said to tackle heavy tasks with superior performance and heightened safety. Fuel efficiency is enhanced through OptiShift technology, which combines Volvo's Reverse By Braking technology and a torque converter with lock-up to eliminate power losses and reduce fuel consumption by up to 18 percent. Volvo's Z-bar linkage provides high breakout force for powerful digging and quick load cycles, while an optional Boom Suspension System absorbs shock and reduces bouncing and bucket spillage to increase productivity by up to 20 percent. A specially designed 9.0-cubic-yard rehandling bucket offers quick loading while increasing fuel efficiency by up to 10 percent. The unit is designed to load on-highway trucks in two passes.
