Before the tournament, many tested their shots on the Chipping Contest, which involved attempting to chip a golf ball into a porta-potty donated by Joe Fesenemeier of Gotta Go Portables. Steve Greene walked away as the winner. The team from Daniel's Sheetmetal took home first place in the golf tournament, with second place going to the Mainstreet Flooring team and third place to the Ford Lumber team. HBAMM members Eric Brewer, Joe Hocklander, Neal Price and Kelley Ouzts enjoy an afternoon on the golf course at the President's Cup Tournament. GBAHB Remodeler member Roddy Sample serves up catfish at the Remodelers' annual fish fry. The team from Bill Hendrix Construction took the top prize at CCHBA's sporting clay tournament for ABPAC. Dr. Kevin Johnson accepts his first place award for the sporting clay scholarship tournament from CCHBA President Willy Hendrix. More than 100 members of the Greater Birmingham Association of Home Builders turned out for their recent Remodelers' fish fry, held at the GBAHB office. The annual event, which has taken place for more than 15 years, is planned and carried out entirely by the GBAHB Remodelers, who are responsible for everything from set up to cooking to musical entertainment to clean up. This year, Remodelers members George Williams, Roddy Sample and Mike Kelley served up fried fish, smoked salmon fillets and boiled shrimp to the attendees. The fish fry has become a tradition that the GBAHB Remodelers look forward to as a fun night with great food and fellowship. It also serves as a recruitment tool as they reach out to non-members and encourage them to join. The morning shoot was open to the public, with proceeds going toward the scholarship fund, while the afternoon shoot, open to CCHBA members only, supported ABPAC. Dr. Kevin Johnson won the morning shoot, while the team from Bill Hendrix Construction came in first in the afternoon event. The tournament was hosted by Maple Ridge Gun Club.
