Z INSTRUCTION GET PREPARED WARM UP TIME BY JASON GUSS One of the biggest issues I see in average golfers is the lack of time they allow to warm up before a round of golf. Most golfers also have busy lives and struggle to find time to play 18 holes, let alone get there a hour before the round to go through a proper warm up. When golfers are in a hurry to get to the golf course they have already pre-set their rhythm and pace for the day without noticing it. So, what can you do to get back to your natural rhythm? Start by grabbing your sand wedge! Two reasons: it's the shortest club in your bag and it's the heaviest club in your bag. The shortness of the wedge makes solid contact the easiest and heaviness allows us to loosen up the quickest. Then start by making some really long slow swings and hitting high soft lob shots. By doing this you are sending a message to your body that you are in the process of slowing down your day and your rhythm as well as slowly warming up all of your muscles. After you have hit about 20 balls, grab your 7 iron and feel the same pace. After 20 balls with the 7 iron, then grab your driver and hit about 10 balls. You are ready to go to the first tee in about 15 minutes, using that same rhythm. This drill is a great drill for those of you who have limited time to warm up before the round.
