It is compact and lightweight for portability and ease of use, but it is a heavy-duty piece of equipment designed to stand up to years of use and abuse. The all-new cast aluminum gearbox houses a 3-inch cen- trifugal clutch and uses hardened steel spur gears and large ball bearings throughout. The handlebars are strong and lightweight and feature a trigger-type return throttle with stop switch. The power unit itself weighs 23 lbs. and uses a Honda ® GX35, 360 degree 4-stroke engine. The auger bits are designed to complement the torque characteristics of the machine and use a new reversible blade design for twice the blade life. They are available in 2", 4", 6" and 8". The power unit and augers are available separately, or as a package that includes all 4 auger sizes, the power unit and a stand that neatly displays and stores the ModelONE and augers. The ModelONE is made in the U.S. by Ground Hog, Inc., which has been manufacturing earth drills since 1948.
