AGGREGATES MANAGER February 2015 10 Tier 4 articulated dump truck Komatsu introduces its HM300-5 articulated dump truck. Featuring 324 net horsepower, the truck is powered by a Komatsu SAA6D125E-7 Tier 4 Final engine. With a 30.9-ton payload and a gross vehicle weight of 117,892 pounds, the truck maintains the productivity and performance of its predecessor while improving fuel efficiency. The 9-foot, 2-inch loading height matches well with 30- to 60-ton hydraulic excavators or 5- to 7.5-cubic-yard wheel loaders. Two single-staged body lift cylinders provide a 70-degree dump angle. Komatsu America Corp. | www.komatsuamerica.com Dozers boast good sight lines Liebherr expands its Generation 6 dozer line with the PR 746 and the PR 756. The most significant change to the 30- and 40- ton class models is a redesign of the operator's station, which provides clear sight lines to the blade. Both the exhaust stack and blade cylinders are moved in line with the pillars supporting the cab and out of view. The cab glass drops to the floorboards for an unobstructed view of the top and bottom edges of the blades. The dozers boast all the benefits of hydrostatic drive transmissions: infinite speed control, step-less gear changes, hill holding ability, dynamic braking, and counter-rotation. Hydrostats also manage the power to the ground to keep the engine at a constant rpm, saving fuel and improving engine life. Liebherr | www.liebherr.com More powerful loaders Cat 950M and 962M wheel loaders, powered by a Cat C7.1 Acert Tier 4 Final engine, are significantly more powerful than their K-Series predecessors and deliver 10-percent better fuel efficiency. The 950M has a net rating of 230 horsepower, while the 962M has 250 horsepower. The models feature major drivetrain refinement, extensively redesigned hydraulic systems, new cab amenities, electronic payload measurement, optimized Z-Bar linkage that combines optimized bucket performance with parallel lift, and a range of Cat Performance Series buckets (bucket sizes range from 3.3 to 12.0 cubic yards on both units) and work tools. These systems lower the average working engine speeds and reduce the overall system heat loads, which are said to result in significantly improved performance and fuel efficiency.
