live in style High-Style Capelets Fly through fall in warming capelets The trend: A romantic, old-world flair makes capelets (a shorter, smaller version of the cape) just as chic today as they were decades ago. Find a variety of colors, textures, shapes and sizes—from ruf- fled with feminine frills to vintage knits and more—for whatever style suites you. How to wear it: To avoid looking bulky, remember this rule of thumb: Whenever you wear a flowing top, choose form-fitting bottoms. Pair this season's capes with bottoms that have a sleek and skinnier fit (think pencil skirts, leggings and skinny jeans). If you're feeling extra glamorous, add a pair of long gloves or a color- ful scarf. Who will love it: Anyone looking for a chic alternative to a bulky sweater or coat. Fall fashion is all about finding transitional pieces that will boost any outfit, from casual weekend and after-work wear to swanky outerwear on a chilly date night.
