Networking News Local women and businesses on the move Madison Fire Chief Debra Amesqua has been named 2011 Career Fire Chief of the Year by Fire Chief Magazine. Amesqua became Madison's fi rst female fi re chief in 1996 and will be retiring this January. After spending 12 years working at 102.5 radio in Rochester, Minn., Tracy Dixon has joined Mike Heller as part of Madison's 96.3 Star Country morning team. Dixon and Heller replace John Flint and Tammy Lee, which recently moved to KSON San Diego. Bartelt Law Offi ce, S.C., led by President Virginia M. Bartelt, has been certifi ed as a Woman-Owned Business Enterprise, which qualifi es the offi ce to be considered for contracts with government entities that seek vendor relationships with businesses owned and operated by women. Madison's Best Western Plus Inn on the Park has named Susan Humbach (pictured) director of sales. Humbach will oversee sales efforts for both corporate and conference clients at the hotel. University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics President and Chief Executive Offi cer Donna Katen-Bahensky has joined the American Hospital Association's Board of Trustees. The board is the policy-making body of the AHA and oversees the group's direction and fi nances. Local Woman Revives Historic Home After purchasing the historic William T. Leitch House four years ago, Peggy Furlan, along with her husband, Dave, have transformed the property into The Livingston Inn, a downtown bed and breakfast. The inn, which features four guest rooms with a private bath and fi replace, opened its doors to guests and for private and corporate events in July.
