Regions Tradition
The Champions Tour's Regions Tradition, a major
on this tour, returns to Shoal Creek, May 14-17.
Kenny Perry is the defending champion and is
sure to face strong opposition from many exist-
ing Champions Tour players, plus possible Regions
newcomers including Jesper Parnevik, Nolan Hen-
ke, Lee Janzen, Vijay Singh, Jose Coceres, Miguel
Angel Jimenez, Billy Andrade, Woody Austin, Davis
Love III, Stephen Ames, Paul Goydos, Kevin Suther-
land, Scott Verplank, Skip Kendall, Frank Espositio,
Grant Waite, Je Coston and Jerry Smith, most of
whom are eligible to play this year if they choose to
do so.
This is the last year for the Regions Tradition at
Shoal Creek before it moves to nearby Greystone
Golf & Country Club's Founders Course.

Birmingham Golf Association
The BGA's Metro Amateur Championship, a two-
man, best ball event with a mid-amateur division
and a senior division, returns to Hoover CC April
18-19.
The BGA also runs a Junior Tour, for boys
and girls ages 10-17, consisting of 20 one-day
events over the summer, culminating with their
Junior Championship, Aug. 3-4, at Pine Tree CC.
