The Thomasville, N.C.-based less-than-truckload com- pany said it invested more than $30 million in the facility that now employs 416, with plans to add 100 new jobs over the next two years. Old Dominion also relocated its service center in Portland, Ore., to ltl fleets open, relocate service centers a larger facility that increases capacity to 136 doors from 84 doors at the previous location; the new facility employs 136. In addition, the company recently expanded its service center in Chattanooga, Tenn. The facility employs 92 and includes a 40 percent larger loading dock. SOutheaStern Freight lineS, a Lexington, S.C.-based LTL company, expanded its services across the Sun Belt region, opening four new service centers with a total of 134 dock doors. SEFL said the new Cincinnati facility and Kentucky facili- ties in Lexington, Louisville and Bowling Green all were opened in response to grow- ing demand and to streamline efficiencies. COn-way Freight, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based LTL company, opened two new service centers. The new $3.7 million Central Texas service center in Robinson replaces an existing 22-door facility in Waco; it has 48 doors and an 18,870-square-foot dock. The new $8 million facility in Fond du Lac, Wis., has 47,000 square feet and more than 100 employees. daytOn Freight opened a new 52-door service center in Des Moines, Iowa, to provide faster service, increased capacity and more error-free deliveries. The Dayton, Ohio-based LTL company invested $7.5 million in the 28,000-square-foot facil- ity and plans to add a mainte- nance shop later this year.
