You host a new show that airs Sunday nights on the History Chan- nel called "Around the World in 80 Ways." What's the premise? Essentially, [my co-host], Dennis Anderson, and I try to circum- navigate the globe using 80 different means of transportation. Den- nis and I are complete opposites—we're like oil and vinegar. He's a southerner; I'm from Boston. Th at roller coaster ride of emotional interaction between us is the most compelling part of the show. We hear some methods of transportation you used on the show included "Heli-waterskiing" and "Cupcake-ing." Explain. Helicopter waterskiing was badass. It's a twist on heli-skiing—I waterskied from behind a helicopter! "Cupcake-ing" through San Francisco was ridiculous, but I promise you will laugh out loud when you see it. We literally drove on the streets in these plush cupcakes with [cupcake-shaped] hats. That must mean you had to take off your signature Boston Red Sox hat! How many do you own? Dozens…but I still have the one that I wore on every episode of "Survivor." Th at one has a special place in my heart. Did you ever imagine that this is where you'd be at this point in your life? No, it's unbelievable. Amber and I are grateful for it and take life day by day. ••• Don't miss a chance to hear more about Mariano's adventures and meet the star at the Madison Women's Expo on Saturday, Nov. 19.
