"Working out while pregnant is definitely harder; I gained 75 pounds [during] the pregnancy," she admits. Over the last two years, Amy slimmed down to her pre-pregnancy weight at a healthy pace. Inspired to share the knowledge they gained from their weight-loss journeys, the couple decided to be- come personal trainers. "We didn't get some magic pill on the show," says Marty. "What we did get is a set of skills to lose weight. I wanted to start training to give other overweight people the gifts we were given." The couple now runs a boot camp program they are transforming into a membership-type club called Square One. While Marty works training others, Amy's day job is in corpo- rate sales. Like any mom, she contends that the hardest thing since the show has been finding that elusive balance. "It is something I am still struggling with because 'The Biggest Loser' takes people that are so out of balance and puts all of the focus on the physical. [Then] other areas have a tendency to slip," she admits. While their TV experience gave them tools for tackling fitness and nutrition, the couple had to find ways to cope with the stresses of everyday life together. "I am living the life I always wanted, but I have had to reprioritize a lot," Amy says. "I ask myself, do I want to take Blaine to another daycare at the gym after being in one all day or spend quality time with him?" Battling weight gain while devoting time to family and work has led her to a real-world realization: It's all about balancing pri- orities, and sometimes this means she'll see a number on the scale that is higher than her goal. But she contends that as long as it's a healthy number, she's not preoccupied with it. Her message today isn't a how-to list of tips for dropping pounds. It's about taking each day as a fresh start. "Look at each morning as an opportunity to be the person you want to be," she says, describing the most important lesson she's learned along the way. "Everybody messes up. You may have eaten more than you wanted to, or it may be months or years since you last worked out, but everybody has an opportunity to start from square one every day." It's a healthy outlook—and sometimes that's the biggest battle of all. ••• Find out how Amy and Marty Wolff are working to find balance in their lives when Complete Nutrition brings them to the Madison Women's Expo on Sunday, Nov. 20.
