MOST BEAUTIFUL Trucking never looked so good Overdrive's A trip to the Great American Trucking Show in Dallas awaits the winner THE TOP 10 (in alphabetical order) Adriana Duncan Hometown: Atlanta Occupation: Company driver, Sherwin-Williams Years trucking: 3 years Hauls: Paint "My brother and father were truckers, and I have always loved the industry. I am local now and really like to be home with my two children. Being a woman in this job has made me more confident. I love being feminine but doing a tough job." Duncan believes a beautiful person is someone who is humble and nice to everyone. "I feel like I'm a great adventurer, and that shows through. But I'm also very humble and grateful for the opportunity to be a truck driver. I tell girls who ask me about a career in trucking to go for it." Joanne Fatta Hometown: Lancaster, Pa. Occupation: Company driver, Sunrise Transport Years trucking: 15 years Hauls: Reefer "I'm pretty simple to read. I would generally just say that you just want to give respect, and you want to get that respect back. I work very hard to do that." Just over 15 years ago, Fatta and a friend were looking for a job change. The friend went to a sem- inar that aimed to teach women about jobs dominated by males, such as trucking. Fatta got her CDL and joined Sunrise Transport. As a single parent, she's found the company to be flexible with her schedule to help her be home with her daughter. Shaina Frolik Hometown: Rice Lake, Wis. Occupation: Company driver, D&E Transport Years trucking: 7 years Hauls: Anything that goes on a flatbed "I grew up with my grandparents. They really made me who I am today. I got taught the old way — be modest, and be who you are, not who society wants you to be. As long as you're happy with yourself, you are beautiful." Trucking has been a natural fit for Frolik. "I was always the girl who played with Hot Wheels instead of Barbies, and I have always had an obsession with trucks." Now she is flatbedding for D&E Transport, strapping her own loads and pull- ing beans, oilfield equipment and LTL freight, among other loads. Erikalynn Graham Hometown: Hendersonville, Tenn. Occupation: Company driver, C.R. England Years trucking: 9 years Hauls: Reefer "What's on the outside isn't real beauty. Beauty is about integrity and where your heart is. Having empathy, how you help other people and loving other people as much as you love yourself — because you do need to love yourself." Graham is a safety ambassador for C.R. England, where she has been recognized as a Driver of the Year. She has a serious love for cooking, fishing with her son, rescuing animals and caring for them — but above all, she values putting her friends and family before herself. By Staff report
