CUSTOM RIGS PRIDE & POLISH 58 | Overdrive | May 2015 O ne way we're celebrating the 25th anniver- sary of Overdrive's Pride & Polish this year is by high- lighting our best custom truck videos. We'll always make use of our show truck photo archives, but there's something special about the videos. That's because while the "polish" speaks for itself, the "pride" is most evident when you hear the owners speak. I've yet to meet a Pride & Polish entrant who wasn't eager to recount the months, or usually years, invested in bringing his truck from its ne- glected state to its present glory. I wish a had a dollar for every time I've heard "down to the frame rails." Never having done any technical rehab on a scale close to these projects, I only can imagine the long hours. It must take superhuman patience and resourcefulness to get past the inevitable hurdles that come with blending components new, old and fabricated. You'll get a sense of that hard work and pride if you watch the 25 videos that we're featuring this year. They represent those that, in most cases, have gotten the most views on our Custom Rigs playlist on YouTube. VIDEOS CELEBRATE CUSTOMIZERS Two videos already queued up in the 25th anniversary playlist are those featuring Travis Buhr's lime-green Peterbilt 379 (top) and Mike Lemley's 2003 Peterbilt 379, dubbed Cathouse. Buhr's truck was featured in Shell's SuperRigs calendar in 2013. Lemley and his rig won Best of Show at the 2014 Great American Trucking Show Pride & Polish, qualifying it to compete in this year's National Championship.
