www.urban-forestry.com 39 Bottlebrush (Callistemon spp.) is an excellent plant native to Australia, consid- ered a shrub or small tree that grows up to 5 m (16 feet). The habit is naturally weeping, with pendulous red bottlebrush-like flowers that attract hummingbirds. It´s a fast-growing, drought-tol - erant, pollution-resistant tree, excellent for parks and avenues. The fern tree (Jacaranda acutifolia or mimosifolia) is a subtropical deciduous tree native to South America. In spring and summer it has magnificent purple-blue flowers that last for a long period of time. It can grow up to 12 m (39 feet) in height. It's a fast-growing, drought-tolerant tree perfect for streets and avenues.
