www.PowersportsBusiness.com NEWS Powersports Business • May 25, 2015 • 3 HOTNEWS CONTINUED FROM COVER cent greater than plan, Conder reports. "Currently increasing production 25 percent and expect to catch up to demand by late September at the earliest." As for proposed side-by-side regulations from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, Conder reports that a "final Off- Road Vehicle ruling is expected Q415 with implementation of any new regulations 180-365 days thereafter. Other possible paths (1) CPSC approves vol- untary industry standards, (2) pending legislation would defer any regulations until indepen- dent study is completed, (3) industry legally challenges any new regulations. Worst case scenario (1) higher costs for industry/consumer, (2) PII is able/best positioned to handle." The addition of S&S Cycle further expands the grow- ing contingent of V-twin exhibitors in the show's third year. Established in 1958, the Viola, Wis.-based S&S Cycle has grown to become arguably the most recognizable name in V-twin aftermarket performance. The "Go-Fast" mantra that was founded chasing speed on the Bonn- eville Salt Flats now defines the brand and its prod- ucts, which are aimed at maximizing the performance of V-twin motorcycles. S&S Cycle's participation at AIMExpo will be highlighted by its sponsorship of the Freestyle class at the new AIMExpo Cham- pionship of the Americas custom bike building competition, alongside Biker's Choice. The winner of the inaugural contest will advance to the AMD 2016 World Championship of Cus- tom Bike Building in Cologne, Germany, at the 2016 Intermot show. S&S Cycle and world-class bike-building events go hand- in-hand as a long time sponsor of the AMD World Champion- ship. With the introduction of the AIMExpo Championship of the Americas, it recognized the opportunity to expand its support of bike builders in its home market. PSB Moose Racing continues as official riding apparel of EnduroCross The GEICO EnduroCross team announced that Moose Racing will continue to be the official riding apparel of EnduroCross. Moose has been involved with EnduroCross from the begin- ning, and several of the top pro and amateur riders choose Moose apparel, including Factory Husqvarna's Mike Brown. Moose also gets local dealers involved with EnduroCross and hosted more than 400 dealership staff members at the Las Vegas race inside the Orleans Arena in April. The dealers got to view the latest products from Moose and other key Parts Unlimited vendors at the Parts Unlimited Showcase event that took place before the race. PHOTO BY BRIAN JEFFRIES Motorcyclist Association for their support of motorcyclists' rights and issues of importance to motorcycling. "These lawmakers have demonstrated an interest in and support for the issues that most directly affect the motorcycling community, and we take great pleasure in honoring them for their efforts," said Wayne Allard, AMA vice president for government relations and a former U.S. senator and U.S. representative from Colorado. U.S. Rep. Tim Walberg (R-Mich.), former Arkansas Rep. and current Arkansas Lt. Gov. Tim Griffin (R), and Sens. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Joe Manchin III (D-W.Va.) were recognized as AMA Heroes. "Hero" awards are presented for extraordinary efforts to support motorcyclists and motorcycling. These four scored highest in the AMA's rankings on issues affecting motorcyclists, and each legislator assumed a lead- ership role. Walberg opposed the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's mission creep into motorcycle safety. Griffin co-chaired the Congressional Motorcycle Caucus and was an outspoken motorcycling advo- cate, hosting the first ever "Ridin' with your Rep" town hall meet- ing. Shaheen led the effort to ban the use of federal funds for motor- cycle-only checkpoints and sup- ported the Recreational Trails Program. Manchin — also a rider — tied for the highest score in the Senate and has been a staunch supporter of motorcyclists' rights for years. The AMA also recognized 15 "Champions" for outstand- ing efforts to motorcyclists and motorcycling. Another 23 law- makers received "Supporter" awards for their positions on motorcycling issues. The AMA "Champions" are Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.), Rep. Andy Harris (R-Md.), Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), Rep. Rob Bishop (R-Utah), Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), Sen. Chris Coons (D-Delaware), Rep. Rick Crawford (R-Ark.), Sen. Dean Heller (R-Nev.), Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.), Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.), Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.), Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) and Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon). PSB Kevin Dunworth of Loaded Gun Customs Motorcycle Shop, has been hired on as a brand specialist for Klock Werks Kustom Cycles.
