NGWA Welcomes Five New Certified Contractors in April NGWA's Voluntary Certification Program welcomed five to its ranks in April, with two certified well driller/pump installers leading the way. Garrett Carrino, CWD/PI, of American Well & Pump Co. in Farmingdale, New York, and Daniel M. Shultes, CWD/PI, of Aqua-Tec Water Services Inc. in Gilboa, New York, are the latest professionals to earn the combined well drilling/pump installation designation. The other new certified individuals are: Brandon Ellis, CPI, of Willey Well Drilling in Freedom, New York, who is the latest certified pump installer; Tony Brokaw, CVCLD, of Midwest Geothermal LLC of Rapids, Michigan (who is the newest certified vertical closed loop driller); and Thomas Sean Hydro, CWD, of Weston & Sampson of Hudson, Massachusetts (the latest certified well driller). A total of 61 NGWA certification tests were given in April. Of those, 31 were proctored for NGWA's Voluntary Certifica- tion Program (24 received passing scores), and 30 exams were administered for state licensing (15 passing). For the first four months of the year, there were 252 exams given: 159 for state licensing (83 passing) and 93 for NGWA certification (53 passing).
