First UP
ACROSS
THE
SKYLINE
W
indmills have dotted our land-
scape for more than 100 years
and are often found when
scanning country skylines. The large
image shows a windmill standing on
a farm near Bethel, Pennsylvania,
which is approximately 30 miles from
Lancaster and the heart of the state's
Amish Country. The windmill is not
in operation but the owner is thinking
of converting it to electric and bring-
ing it back on. Photo submitted by
Ray Eccleston. (Inset) This windmill
resides on the property of Earnest Well
Drilling Inc. in Milford, Nebraska.
